- Servings: 6
- Total cooking time:
Ingredients:
- 2 cardamon
- 2 smalls carrots
- 2 celery stalks
- coriander stalks
- 15 black pepper corns
- 1 star anise
- 1 ox tongue
Instructions:
- Place whole tongue into slow cooker with celery stalks, carrots, coriander stalks and black pepper.
- Put the first hour to HIGH and then low for the next 3-4 hours
- Remove the tongue and allow it to cool down.
- Remove the skin and tough muscles (if any). I sliced some thinly. Some I pan fried with just butter and the other, I marinated it with teriyaki sauce and then quickly pan fried them
- Slice the rest in big pieces. Fill the slow cooker with the leftover stock or you can make fresh ones.
- Add the chunks in and allow it to slow cook on LOW for another 4-5 hours
- Serve with steamed rice and a simple Chinese stir fry vegetables or salted mustard greens
