  • Servings: 6
  • Total cooking time:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cardamon
  • 2 smalls carrots
  • 2 celery stalks
  • coriander stalks
  • 15 black pepper corns
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 ox tongue

Instructions:

  1. Place whole tongue into slow cooker with celery stalks, carrots, coriander stalks and black pepper.
  2. Put the first hour to HIGH and then low for the next 3-4 hours
  3. Remove the tongue and allow it to cool down.
  4. Remove the skin and tough muscles (if any). I sliced some thinly. Some I pan fried with just butter and the other, I marinated it with teriyaki sauce and then quickly pan fried them
  5. Slice the rest in big pieces. Fill the slow cooker with the leftover stock or you can make fresh ones.
  6. Add the chunks in and allow it to slow cook on LOW for another 4-5 hours
  7. Serve with steamed rice and a simple Chinese stir fry vegetables or salted mustard greens
